Introduction

Products people love are rarely the ones with the most features. They are the ones that ask the least of the person using them, and give back the most in return.

That balance is not an accident. It comes from deciding early what the product will not do, and defending that decision through every round of feedback.

Start With The Job, Not The Screen

Before a single frame is drawn, we map what the user is actually trying to accomplish and where the current path breaks down. Screens designed without that map tend to solve problems nobody had.

Reducing Cognitive Load

Every choice you put in front of someone costs them attention. Good interfaces spend that budget carefully, surfacing one clear next step instead of five equally weighted options.

What This Looks Like

  • A single primary action per screen

  • Progressive disclosure of advanced options

  • Consistent placement of recurring controls

  • Plain language over product jargon

Designing For The Second Session

First impressions get the credit, but retention is decided on the second visit. Interfaces that reward familiarity, remembering state and shortening repeat paths, are the ones that become habits.

Measuring Whether It Worked

Usability is testable. We instrument the flows that matter, watch where people hesitate, and treat every drop-off as a design question rather than a user error.
